S M Krishna continues to figure in Congress’ pre-poll booklet
Bengaluru, (DHNS): Days after the State Congress chief G Parameshwara refused to remove BJP leader S M Krishna’s portrait from the party office, the photo of the former chief minister appears prominently in party’s pre-poll booklet.
The booklet prepared for the ‘Mane Manege Congress Nadege’ campaign, highlights the achievements of the Siddaramaiah regime and at the same time, is very critical of the NDA government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Congress is planning to distribute the booklet to each and every household in the state.
But what has raised eyebrows is the use of Krishna’s photo in the booklet under the list ‘CMs of Karnataka from the Congress’. After more than four decades of association with the Congress, Krishna had quit the party and joined the BJP in March this year.
“We wonder if it is by virtue of their habit that they are still using Krishna’s photo. But Krishna is very much with the BJP and disgusted with the Congress. During BJP national president Amit Shah’s recent interaction with those who joined the party, it was Krishna who exhorted on the role they should play in the BJP,” BJP state spokesperson Suresh Kumar said.
Interestingly, the Congress campaign is being launched from Bengaluru’s software hub, Mahadevapura, on Saturday. Krishna is considered to be the main player who was instrumental in putting Bengaluru on the world Information Technology map.
